One hot summer day, a woman went to the
supermarket and pulled into a parking spot. She soon noticed that the woman in
the car next to her was slumped over her steering wheel, not moving, with one
hand holding the back of her head. She was concerned but didn’t know what to
do, so she went on with her shopping. When she returned, she saw that the other
woman was still in her car, in the same position as before. Now worried, she
went over to the woman’s car and tapped the window, asking if she needed any
help and if she was all right. The woman answered, gasping out, “Please call
911! I’ve been shot, and I can feel my brains coming out!” As she said this,
the first woman looked at the back of her head and noticed a sticky gray
substance oozing out between the other woman’s fingers. Horrified, she ran
back to the store and got the manager to phone for help.
The paramedics soon arrived, and carefully pried the woman’s fingers from
the back of her head. After examining the injury, they checked out the rest of
the car, and then started to laugh. They explained that the woman had had a
canister of Pillsbury Poppin’ Fresh® biscuit dough on top of one of her
grocery bags in the back seat of her car. The intense heat had caused the
canister to explode, flinging the metal lid of the tube toward the woman and
striking her in the back of her head, and shooting some of the dough out which
had then stuck to her hair.
When the store manager looked at her receipt, he saw that she had sat there
for an hour and a half before anyone had offered help. He also gave her a new
can of Pillsbury biscuit dough.
