An American family was traveling by car through Europe, when the grandmother
died (of natural causes) in the backseat of the car with her two grandchildren
next to her. The parents didn’t know what to do, so they decided to find a
phone to call the American Embassy for help. But the children became a little
freaked out with their now-deceased grandmother still in the backseat with them,
and since there wasn’t enough room in the front seat for all of them, the
father wrapped the grandmother up in a blanket and put her up on the luggage
rack on top of the car. They finally reached a gas station, and the parents got
out to make the call to the Embassy, leaving the keys in the ignition. The
children got out to wander around and stretch their legs. When they all
returned, they found that their car had been stolen, along with Grandma and all
possessions and passports. They never found a single one of their possessions.
