One night, a young girl was
staying over at a house party, and after everyone else had fallen asleep, she
woke up because of the intense brightness of the moon shining in the room. She
got up to pull the blind down, but before she was able to, she saw a coach
outside, coming up the driveway, and a coachman sitting on it, with a very
distinctive, haunting face – pale, long, with a scar and a hooked nose. She
was confused, especially since the coach didn’t seem to make any noise, but
she put it out of her mind and went back to sleep. The next morning, she went
outside to investigate, but saw no hoof prints from the horses or track marks
from the coach in the gravel driveway. The more she thought about it, the
stranger it seemed, but she brushed it off as being a strange dream, and
didn’t bother to mention it to anyone.
A few days later, she was waiting for the elevator at a department store.
When one came, the doors opened, and the operator asked, “Going down?” She
looked up and saw that his face was the same as the coachman’s she’d seen
the night of the party. She was so startled that she forgot about the
elevator, didn’t get on, and walked away. The doors closed, and the elevator
crashed all the way to the basement, killing everyone in it.
