A few years ago, around the holiday season, there were dozens of police
reports about slasher-robbers. Apparently, the method of choice was to hide
under the cars of their victims, and as the person was about to enter the car
with his or her packages, the assailant would slash the lower legs of that
person with a knife. When the victim fell to the ground, the assailant would
then come out from under the car, grab the purses and gifts and run off.
