The World's Cheapest Contest

Last week's Question:
The great archaeologist Jason Sun was digging in totally frozen ground when he came across a preserved body. As soon as he saw the body he knew that it had to be Adam, the first man. How could he be so sure of this?

The answer: No belly button.

We had many correct answers to this questions. To shorten this email, you can read the list of winners for our cheap greeting card at http://www.campusnut.com/contest.cfm.

If you want to be one of five randomly selected winners of our greeting card (signed by some, not all, of the CampusNut staff), please participate in our contest.

***Question For This Week***

We realize that the past few questions have been easy. So here's a hard one:
You're in a room with three light switches, each of which controls a light in three separate rooms. Once you leave the switch room you cannot go back inside, but you are only allowed into each of the other rooms once. How do you tell which switch turns on which light?
(We don't know the answer to this yet. We are hoping that at least one of you gets it right.)

*** If you know the answer, send it to contest@campusnut.com ***

REALLY TOUGH QUESTION FOR THE MONTH:
(each correct answer is guaranteed a greeting card)

There are 5 people named A, B, C, D, E.  A can cross a narrow bridge in 1 minute, B in 2 minutes, C in 3 minutes, D in 4 minutes, and E in 5 minutes.  Unfortunately, the bridge can only hold two of them at a time.  To make matters worse, it is dark.  The only way to safely cross the bridge would be to use a flashlight.  That means that two people can cross (one with the flashlight) but someone needs to cross the bridge back to retrieve the others.  But the flashlight has only 16 minutes of battery time left.  How can you have all of them cross the bridge in 16 minutes?

Our apologies to those who are due greeting cards.  We've been busy.  But you'll get them soon.
