A graduate of Ithaca College, where he acted and studied film, David
Boreanaz, 29, moved to Los Angeles to try to break into show business. Until
his role on “Buffy…” he was fairly unsuccessful, although he did get a
small role on "Married ... With Children" as Kelly Bundy’s biker
boyfriend. In the meantime, he worked odd jobs, such as parking cars, painting
houses, and selling gourmet food door-to-door. He was discovered by his manager
while walking his dog, Bertha Blue, and she immediately signed him and called
"Buffy…" casting director Marcia Schulman to arrange an audition for
the role of Angel. While he did get the part, Angel was only meant to be a
one-time role, but fans asked for his reappearance, and he was made into a very
significant recurring character. Angel has since spun off onto his own show.
David was also married to Ingrid Quinn, to whom he is now divorced.
