Although Sarah Michelle Gellar, 23, is one of
the hottest actresses today, she has been involved in the business since she was
a young child. At the age of four, she was discovered by an agent, and was soon
put to work on a TV movie called "An Invasion of Privacy." She then
went on to appear in numerous commercials and small roles in movies and
television, all while attending The Professional Children’s School. One of her
first starring roles was in a teenage soap opera called Swan’s Crossing, but
her biggest break came with her role as Kendall Hart on “All My Children,”
playing Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci’s) daughter. She played this bad girl role
for two and a half years, and even won a daytime Emmy for it in 1994. She then
went on to star “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” playing the title role, although
she originally tried out to play the part of Cordelia. Her role as Buffy has
since catapaulted her into the spotlight, and she has since gained many major
roles in some popular films today, including the hit Cruel Intentions.
Sarah also does most of her own stunts on “Buffy…” with the help of a
brown belt she had earned in Tae Kwon Do; she also knows how to kickbox and
ice-skate, having competed in the latter when she was younger. She is also a
spokesperson for Maybelline cosmetics. A New York native, Sarah currently
resides in Los Angeles.
