I recently borrowed the video game version of the hit TV game show "Who Want to be a Millionaire?". When I play along to the TV version, I usually fare well. I can usually get up to $250,000 assuming that my Phone-a-Friend can answer one of the questions and the audience can help me out. I have always been good at these trivia games so I figured that this game would be a fun way to waste time. Well, if you have the same attitude, prepare to be humbled.
I don't want to say the game is hard but the combined total of my first 10 games was around $70,000. For the record, I had two games that reached $32,000, six games that got $1,000 and two games that got me zilch. Rather than talk about the secret moves or the intricacies (we all know the format), I thought that I'd transcribe a game that I recently played. You be the judge of whether this is hard or I am just stupid. Note: this was the best game I played.

$100 How many digits are there in a standard VISA card? A. 12 B. 15 C. 16 D. 20	I answered "C". I know this because I use my VISA card all the time.
$200 Who is the mythological Roman goddess of flowers? A. Diane B. Echo C. Flora D. Niobe	I wasn't sure about this but I knew that Flora is a biological area with plants. I would feel silly using a lifeline so I answered C.
$300 What does it mean to work "pro bono"? A. work overtime B. work without pay C. work as your own boss D. not work at all	B. I do a lot of work Pro Bono (unintentionally, I might add).
$500 What is the capital of North Dakota? A. Bismarck B. Fargo C. Sioux Falls D. Pierre	I only knew this because I saw this answer on Jeopardy a few weeks before. A
$1,000 If a business "files under Chapter 11", what is it doing? A. declaring bankruptcy B. selling stock C. buying a smaller company D. suing the government	A. I would rather not tell you why I know this.
$2,000 What is a babalaika? A. musical instrument B. Russian peasant C. type of hat D. breed of shark	I had no idea so I used the audience. 58 percent chose A. 32 chose C. So I chose A.
$4,000 Which of these types of artwork consisting of pieces of wood inlaid in a geometric pattern? A. marquelry B. parquetry C. harquetry D. sharquetry	Again, I had no idea. I was thinking about the parquet floors of the old Boston Garden but I called a friend who happened to be Dr. Loretta, Regis's buddy. When she was not busy flirting, she managed to give me the answer. B I chose B
$8,000 In golf, what is one stroke over par called? A. eagle B. bogey C. dormy D. birdie	I am an avid golfer. Not a good golfer. I hit lots of bogeys. B
$16,000 How is the Arabic numeral for "2" written? A. 2 B. II C. funny looking u sign D. ii	It was either A or C because the other two are Roman numerals. I only had one lifeline remaining. I guessed A. I was right on my guess.
$32,000 What is the largest animal to ever live on Earth? A. blue whale B. giant squid C. wooly mammoth D. T-Rex	I was pretty sure that this was A.
$64,000 In the sci-fi movie "Fantastic Voyage", where do the voyagers travel? A. through outer space B. through human body C. to the ocean floor D. to the center of earth	The author, Jules Vernes, wrote several books. The ocean would be covered by his 20,000 Leagues. So I guessed D. Although I was thinking about B.

I was wrong. It was through the human body. I only got $32,000. At least, I was saved on this particular round from the tauntings by Regis. The game is okay but the thrill of watching the show did not translate.
